Tracy Fu

Tracy Fu is a Managing Member and co-founder at QVT Financial LP, a New York-based investment firm, where he also serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and oversees QVT’s Asian offices. In this capacity, Fu is responsible for directing investment strategy and managing portfolios utilizing fundamental and idiosyncratic trading strategies, with a special focus on complex, long-horizon positions in global markets and event-driven opportunities.

With over three decades in finance, Fu began his career at Deutsche Bank, where he rose to Managing Director before helping to found QVT in 2003. His leadership at QVT has positioned the firm as an innovator in deploying proprietary investment approaches, particularly in equity and credit markets, activism, and cross-border investments, with a notable track record in Asian markets.

Fu holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology. His multidisciplinary expertise—spanning advanced quantitative analysis and fundamental investing—has underpinned his reputation as a leading figure in alternative asset management, recognized for his commitment to investor rights and pioneering strategies in event-driven and global arbitrage sectors.
