Brian Pirie

Brian D. Pirie is the Managing Member and Chief Compliance Officer at RDST Capital LLC, a Seattle-based investment firm he founded in 2016. At RDST Capital, he manages significant assets for institutional clients and nonprofit endowments, with a primary focus on public equities and a long-term, research-driven approach to portfolio management.

His investment expertise centers on high-quality, cash-generative businesses across sectors such as technology, industrials, consumer, and materials—evidenced by major positions in companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Applied Materials, CSX Corp, and Entegris. Pirie's philosophy combines public market investing with principles from private equity and family office strategies, seeking to deliver strong, multi-year returns through patient capital allocation.

Prior to founding RDST Capital, Pirie was a Principal and Associate at Sansome Partners from 2004 to 2016 and an Analyst at Goldman Sachs. He earned a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Engineering from Queen’s University, and is recognized for his rigorous security selection, risk management skills, and commitment to research-intensive investment processes.
