Kieran Goodwin

Kieran Goodwin is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Saba Capital Management, L.P., based in New York, NY. He joined Saba in February 2024 and was promoted to Partner in 2025, where he leads the firm's efforts in structured and private credit, as well as overseeing Saba LT. Goodwin plays a critical role in shaping and executing Saba's quantitative credit trading strategies, blending algorithmic modeling with fundamental analysis to identify asymmetric risk-reward opportunities in today's complex credit markets.

Prior to joining Saba, Goodwin was a Portfolio Manager and Co-Founder of Panning Capital Management (2012-2019) and served as the first non-founding Partner and Head of Trading at King Street Capital (2004-2010). His early career included credit derivatives and proprietary trading roles at Smith Barney, Citigroup, Salomon, Merrill Lynch, and UBS, providing him with deep expertise in credit markets and derivatives. Throughout his career, Goodwin has been recognized for driving innovation in capital structure arbitrage, distressed debt, and hedge fund strategies targeting both fundamental and quantitative approaches.

Goodwin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, cum laude, from Duke University in 1991. He is widely respected in the industry for his thought leadership in credit market dynamics, his ability to develop and calibrate hybrid investment models in real-time, and his contributions to elevating Saba as a leader in credit relative value, structured credit, and tail risk hedging.
