Odysseas Kostas

Odysseas Kostas is a Partner and Senior Managing Director at Sarissa Capital Management LP, based in Greenwich, CT. At Sarissa, he plays a leading role in shaping investment strategies and engaging with portfolio companies to enhance shareholder value, with a primary focus on the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. His responsibilities include identifying underperforming companies, advocating for operational improvements, and often taking active roles such as board memberships to drive corporate governance and strategy.

Dr. Kostas has significant experience in both capital markets and clinical practice. Before joining Sarissa in 2016, he served as a Director at Evercore ISI, where he covered the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, providing specialized investment analysis and sector insights. Additionally, he practiced internal medicine at Yale New Haven Health System and acted as a consultant to various biotechnology companies, broadening his expertise in healthcare investments.

He currently serves on the boards of Amarin Corporation and Armata Pharmaceuticals and has also served as Chairman of Innoviva, Inc. Dr. Kostas earned an M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a B.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), supporting a strong foundation in medical science and quantitative analysis. He is recognized for his impactful contributions to value-driven activism in the healthcare, biotech, and pharmaceutical investment sectors.
