Raja Moorthy

Raja (Raj) Moorthy is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Advantage Alpha Capital Partners LP, based in San Francisco. He leads the firm's investment strategy, focusing particularly on small-cap equities and private equity opportunities. His responsibilities include portfolio management, investment process oversight, and driving Advantage Alpha's market-neutral investment approach within the small-cap public and private markets.

Moorthy brings more than 20 years of experience in small-cap investing, private equity, and operationally focused leveraged buyouts. Before founding Advantage Alpha in 2018, he was a Partner and co-founder of Pivot Point Capital, a small-cap-focused hedge fund, and previously served as Vice President at Audax Group, a leading middle market private equity firm. His expertise covers sectors such as information and business services, industrials, and technology, with a special emphasis on public and private small-cap companies.

Moorthy holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA with honors from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He has also co-founded and served as CFO for a European technology-based start-up and began his financial career in the M&A group at Credit Suisse First Boston. His track record includes sourcing, executing, and managing investments that span a range of innovative and high-growth small-cap companies.
