Matthew Gilbert

Matthew Gilbert, CFA, serves as an Associate on the Investment Strategy Team at Balentine LLC in Marietta, GA. In his current role, he is responsible for supporting the execution of Balentine’s data-driven investment model, which includes executing trades, researching investment ideas, and conducting manager due diligence. His work directly supports the firm's core philosophy of unemotional, disciplined portfolio management.

Gilbert’s investment focus encompasses portfolio construction, due diligence on third-party managers, and tactical asset allocation across a range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments. He works closely with Balentine’s in-house trading team to implement strategies for institutional and high-net-worth clients.

Before joining Balentine in 2023, Gilbert was an Investment Analyst at the Georgia Office of the State Treasurer, where he gained experience managing state investments, and a Research Analyst Intern at Henssler Financial. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Kennesaw State University, where he served as Chief Investment Officer for the Student Managed Investment Fund. Gilbert is a CFA® Charterholder, underscoring his commitment to investment research and portfolio management excellence.
