Newton Chung

Newton Chung is the Manager and Head Trader at John W. Bristol & Co., Inc., based in New Jersey, where he oversees the firm’s trading operations and manages execution strategies for institutional equity portfolios. In this role since 2014, he leads a team responsible for trade implementation, market analysis, and the continuous optimization of trading performance.

Chung specializes in the trading and management of U.S. equities, with a focus on large-cap and mid-cap stocks as well as portfolio execution for long-only institutional investors. He utilizes expertise in electronic trading platforms, direct market access, and algorithmic strategies to ensure best execution across a range of equity sectors for Bristol’s client base.

Prior to joining John W. Bristol & Co., Chung held senior roles in electronic sales and trading at WallachBeth Capital and Lazard Capital Markets, where he developed expertise in DMA, algorithmic execution, and portfolio trading for diverse institutional clients. He holds a BA in economics from Boston College, building a strong foundation in market structure and investment strategy, and is recognized for his leadership and technical proficiency in equity trading.
