Elena Hernández

Elena Hernández is Principal at GenTrust, where she advises high net worth families and financial institutions on global investments and risk management. She is responsible for developing comprehensive financial plans that maximize client objectives, integrating tailored strategies across asset classes including fixed income, currencies, and commodities. Elena also spearheads GenTrust’s client service expansion in Puerto Rico and serves as a member of the firm’s investment team.

Prior to GenTrust, Elena was Head of Impact Investing and Managing Director, focusing on integrating ESG and social impact solutions for clients. Her notable tenure at Goldman Sachs spanned both New York and London, where she specialized in fixed income institutional sales and led the Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities solutions team for ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices, providing bespoke investment and risk management strategies.

Elena earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, summa cum laude, from Universidad de Puerto Rico. She is recognized for her expertise in global fixed income markets, asset allocation, and risk management. Beyond her professional achievements, Elena is a board member of ConPRmetidos, fostering economic development in Puerto Rico, and is an alumna of the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity program.
