George Perez

George L. Perez is a Founding Principal and Senior Client Advisor at GenTrust, an independent investment advisory firm based in Miami, FL. In his current role, he manages several of GenTrust’s largest client relationships, specializing in serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, particularly those with multinational needs. He often coordinates with clients’ legal and tax advisors on estate planning, wealth transfer, and tax optimization strategies to address complex, cross-border financial needs.

Perez’s expertise encompasses wealth management for high-net-worth clients, with a particular focus on alternative investments—including hedge funds and private equity—and institutional fixed income solutions. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly two decades at Merrill Lynch, where he was First Vice President in the International Wealth Management Group and developed significant experience in cash management and short-term fixed income strategies. At Merrill, he played a key role in expanding the firm’s reach within South Florida and internationally, with noted influence in Latin American markets.

George Perez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Latin American Studies from Rutgers University and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®).
