Brad Balter

Brad Balter is the Head of Trading at TCGX, based in Boston, MA, where he is responsible for overseeing all trading operations and strategy execution within the firm. TCGX specializes in investments across the healthcare and life sciences sector, with a particular focus on innovative public and pre-IPO drug discovery companies, and Brad plays a key role in managing exposure and liquidity across these biotechnology and pharmaceutical assets.

Brad brings over three decades of investment experience, including prior roles as Executive Vice President at Bain Capital and Managing Partner at Balter Capital Management, LLC. At Balter Capital, he built a track record in constructing discretionary hedge fund portfolios and fund-of-fund products, with expertise in alternative strategies and early-stage hedge fund relationships, spanning multiple asset classes and strategies.

He holds degrees from Williams College and Reichman University, including specialized training in Cyber/Computer Forensics, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. Recognized for his deep knowledge of structurally inefficient markets and alternatives, Brad has contributed to the investment community through advisory roles and committee work for nonprofit organizations, consistently focusing on emerging opportunities within the biotech and healthcare space.
