Cariad Chester

Cariad Chester is Managing Partner at TCGX, a healthcare-focused investment firm based in California. At TCGX, he leads investments in both private and public biotechnology companies that are pioneering new drug discovery and therapeutic innovation, particularly in the pre-IPO and public markets. Chester oversees all aspects of deal sourcing, diligence, and portfolio company engagement, supporting biotechs developing transformative medicines, and serves on the Boards of several companies including Pheon, Beacon Therapeutics, Obsidian, Plexium, and Adcendo.

Chester's investment focus is centered on the biotechnology and healthcare sectors, especially companies advancing novel therapeutics and immunotherapies. His notable portfolio investments include Vicebio (acquired by Sanofi), Icosavax (acquired by AstraZeneca), Iveric (acquired by Astellas), Gracell (acquired by AstraZeneca), and others, reflecting a track record in partnering with disruptive biotechs across a range of therapeutic areas and modalities. Prior to TCGX, he was Managing Director at Aquilo Capital, leading investments in companies developing human therapeutics, and earlier conducted immunotherapy research at Stanford University School of Medicine focused on tumor-immune system interactions.

Chester holds a double major in Neuroscience and Comparative Religious Studies from Swarthmore College.
