Barbara Rishel

Barbara Rishel is Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Tufton Capital Management in Hunt Valley, Maryland, where she manages retirement assets for a range of private clients. In this role, she is responsible for portfolio construction, asset allocation, and long-term investment planning tailored to individual and institutional needs. Her investment approach centers on diversified portfolios spanning equities, fixed income, and alternative investments, guiding clients through the complexities of markets with an emphasis on risk management and retirement planning.

Barb began her career in the banking and insurance sectors in Baltimore, analyzing corporate investments before advancing to leadership positions in wealth management. She previously held senior roles at MTB Investment Advisors and was a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley, sharpening her expertise in portfolio management and strategic asset allocation.

She holds an MBA from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor’s degree from Towson University. In addition to her professional duties, Barb is chair of the Board of Trustees for the Community Foundation of Howard County and serves on multiple investment committees, reflecting her commitment to institutional stewardship and philanthropic impact.
