Ying Zhu

Ying Zhu is the Head of Quantitative Research and Quant Coach at Belvedere Trading, LLC, a proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, Illinois. In this dual leadership role, she oversees the design and implementation of quantitative trading strategies, leads internal research initiatives, and mentors the firm’s quantitative talent. As an equity partner, she plays a key part in shaping Belvedere’s research direction and strategic vision.

Her expertise centers on equity index and commodity derivatives, consistent with Belvedere Trading’s focus as a leading derivatives market participant. She specializes in developing systematic trading algorithms, risk analytics, and market modeling for these asset classes, contributing directly to the firm’s edge in highly competitive derivatives markets.

Ying Zhu holds a Master's degree in Mathematics and an additional degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Fudan University. Recognized for her leadership in quantitative finance, she has made significant contributions as both a strategist and as a mentor for upcoming quantitative professionals in the proprietary trading industry.
