Max Farina

Max Farina, MD, is a Principal at 5AM Ventures, a leading venture capital firm focused on early-stage life science and biotechnology investments. In his role, Max is responsible for sourcing, diligencing, and supporting investments across innovative sectors such as therapeutics, diagnostics, and bioengineering, actively serving as a Board Observer for companies in areas including molecular biology, life sciences tools, and medtech.

Max joined 5AM Ventures in 2021 and has progressed from Associate to Senior Associate before his current Principal position, frequently guiding portfolio companies and managing interactions between entrepreneurs and the investment team. He previously worked as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs, further strengthening his analytical and financial skills applied in venture capital.

Dr. Farina holds a Doctor of Medicine from Yale School of Medicine and an MBA from Yale School of Management, in addition to a BS in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology with Music Performance from Emory University. His multidisciplinary background provides a unique perspective for evaluating opportunities in biotechnology and life sciences, contributing to his reputation for bridging clinical, scientific, and business expertise when supporting portfolio development and industry innovation.
