Travis Fleming

Travis Fleming, PhD, is an Analyst at 5AM Ventures, a leading life sciences venture capital firm based in San Francisco. In this capacity, he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and supporting investments in early-stage biotechnology and therapeutic companies, leveraging his scientific expertise to drive due diligence and guide portfolio strategy.

Dr. Fleming focuses on investments within the biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, and life sciences sectors—particularly companies developing novel therapies, platform technologies, and next-generation drug delivery solutions. His daily work includes collaborating with academics, entrepreneurs, and other investment professionals to identify promising scientific advancements that address critical needs in healthcare.

Prior to joining 5AM Ventures as a Fellow and later Analyst, Dr. Fleming earned his PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University and holds a BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego. His research background, combined with real-world investment experience, positions him to contribute meaningfully at the intersection of science and venture capital, supporting breakthrough innovation in the biomedical field.
