Sam Magid

Sam Magid is a partner at Capital Counsel LLC, a New York-based investment management firm, where he serves as both a portfolio manager and a client service lead. He joined the firm in 2008 and became a partner in 2020, reflecting his long-term commitment and leadership within the organization.

At Capital Counsel, Sam focuses on managing concentrated portfolios largely composed of large-cap and mid-cap U.S. companies, and those with substantial U.S. operations. His investment process centers on fundamental, bottom-up research and disciplined analysis of company management and business models, primarily targeting equities for high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations, and endowments.

Prior to his role at Capital Counsel, Sam worked for the Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, adding to his business acumen. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Oklahoma, which underpins his expertise in fundamental equity analysis and client-focused investment solutions.
