Terence Greene

Terence S. Greene is the President and co-founder of Capital Counsel LLC, a New York-based investment management firm, where he oversees the firm’s investment strategy and client portfolios. He leads a team that specializes in long-term equity investing, with an emphasis on selecting high-quality companies across sectors such as consumer goods, healthcare, technology, and industrials. As part of his role, Greene is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, portfolio management, and maintaining rigorous fundamental research standards for client assets.

Greene brings over 33 years of experience to his current position, having started his investment career at Train Smith Counsel in 1990 as an investment analyst and portfolio manager. He became a partner at Train Smith Counsel in 1995 before co-founding Capital Counsel in 1999. His expertise spans equity research, portfolio construction, and wealth management, focusing on long-term growth and capital preservation for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients.

He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Greene serves on the Finance and Investment Committee of the UVM Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture, reflecting his commitment to both industry best practices and community engagement.
