Harry Hartford

Harry Hartford is the president, head of fundamental research, and fundamental portfolio manager at Causeway Capital Management LLC in Los Angeles. He co-founded Causeway in June 2001 and serves as a member of the firm's operating committee, directing investment strategy and research for global and international equity portfolios. His responsibility includes overseeing fundamental and absolute return strategies, with a focus on value-oriented investment across developed and emerging equity markets.

Hartford is particularly recognized for his expertise in international and global value equities, managing portfolios that span multiple sectors and geographies, with an emphasis on disciplined, fundamentally-driven investment processes. Prior to founding Causeway, he was managing director and co-head of the international and global value team at Hotchkis & Wiley (HW-MLIM) and spent a decade at The Investment Bank of Ireland specializing in global and Irish equity management.

He holds a BA with honors in economics from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in economics from Oklahoma State University, where he also lectured in micro and macroeconomics. Hartford’s contributions to the industry include launching and managing international investment strategies and supporting economic education initiatives, such as the Student Economic Review at Trinity College Dublin.
