Dan McKenzie

Dan McKenzie is a Portfolio Manager at Hotchkis & Wiley Capital Management LLC in Los Angeles, specializing in the management of High Yield bond portfolios. He is responsible for oversight of investments in sectors such as capital goods, utilities, leisure, residential construction, and real estate. Dan is a key member of Hotchkis & Wiley’s capital goods, consumer, energy, and financials sector teams, contributing to the firm’s value-driven approach for institutional and individual clients.

With over 20 years of industry experience—all at Hotchkis & Wiley—Dan started as a Performance Specialist, progressed through the Research Associate program, became an Investment Analyst, and was promoted to Portfolio Manager in 2018. His investment expertise is rooted in fundamental research and bottom-up sector analysis, with notable focus on smaller- and mid-cap issuers within the high yield space.

Dan holds both a BA in Economics and a BS in Math/Applied Sciences with a concentration in Accounting and Managerial Math from UCLA, along with an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a CFA charterholder and has been featured alongside other portfolio managers for his work identifying undervalued companies and generating value opportunities across varied industries such as truck rental, software, and energy services.
