George Davis

George Davis serves as Executive Chairman and Portfolio Manager at Hotchkis & Wiley Capital Management LLC, where he is responsible for setting the firm’s strategic direction and managing large cap value investment portfolios. He is a senior member of the capital goods and financials sector teams, emphasizing value investing strategies and deep fundamental research across U.S. equities, particularly large cap and diversified value strategies.

With over four decades of investment industry experience, Davis has been with Hotchkis & Wiley since 1988, guiding the firm through significant market cycles and growing assets under management to over $30 billion. He is known for maintaining a disciplined value investment approach, with notable expertise in sectors such as financials and energy, and a hands-on focus as a stock picker who takes contrarian positions based on long-term normalized earnings power.

Davis holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University. Before joining Hotchkis & Wiley, he gained experience at RCM Capital Management and completed internships at Cramer, Rosenthal & McGlynn and Fidelity Management & Research, further strengthening his background in equity research and portfolio management.
