Steve Check

Steve Check is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Check Capital Management Inc., a value-focused asset management firm based in Southern California that he founded in 1987. In this role, he oversees all aspects of investment policy and portfolio management, directly leading the firm's long-term, disciplined approach to asset growth and preservation for over 1,200 clients nationwide.

His investment expertise centers on equity markets, with an emphasis on concentrated portfolios of high-quality, undervalued companies that are industry leaders with durable competitive advantages. Steve employs a value-investing philosophy, inspired by Warren Buffett and Benjamin Graham, and has attended the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting for 27 consecutive years.

Steve holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master’s in Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
