Byron Sun

Byron Sun is an Investment Analyst and Principal at First Pacific Advisors (FPA), based in New York. He joined FPA in 2015 and serves on the investment team, where he performs in-depth fundamental research and contributes to the firm’s value-oriented investment strategies. At FPA, he is responsible for evaluating equity and potentially credit opportunities across various sectors, with a focus aligned to the firm’s disciplined approach to long-term value investing and capital preservation.

Prior to joining FPA, Byron was an investment analyst at Deccan Value Investors, where he conducted company analysis and portfolio research across global markets, and an associate at Clarity Partners where he focused on private equity transactions in media and communications. His experience spans public equities, private equity, and multi-asset allocation within institutional investment environments.

Byron holds an MBA with concentrations in accounting and finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Yale University. His expertise includes fundamental equity research, asset allocation, and long-term value investing, contributing to FPA’s reputation for rigorous, independent analysis and prudent investment selection.
