Brian Massey

Brian L. Massey is President, Co-Founder, and Portfolio Manager at Mar Vista Investment Partners, where he is responsible for firm leadership, investment strategy, and portfolio management. Based in Los Angeles, he co-leads Mar Vista’s investment team and manages strategies such as Strategic Growth, Focus, and Global portfolios, with particular emphasis on high-conviction investments in wide-moat businesses that generate sustainable, high returns on invested capital.

Massey’s investment focus is on global equities, emphasizing long-term holdings in durable, competitively advantaged companies across sectors including technology, healthcare, consumer, and financials. He is known for a disciplined, process-oriented approach prioritizing capital preservation and intrinsic value, and for consistently seeking differentiated outcomes for client portfolios.

Previously, Massey held the role of Director of Research at Roxbury Capital Management for a decade, following his start as a Senior Consultant at KPMG’s Corporate Finance and Strategic Consulting group. He earned his MBA in Finance/Investments from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BA in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University, and he is a CFA charterholder, recognized for his leadership and expertise in fundamental equity research.
