Brian Busby is Head Trader and Partner at Ranger Investment Management, a Dallas-based boutique investment manager specializing in domestic small- and micro-cap equities. Since joining the firm in 2003 and assuming the head trader role in 2005, Brian oversees all trading operations, manages execution, and supports the investment team through in-depth statistical analysis and portfolio analytics.

His expertise centers on small and micro-cap U.S. equities, with a strong focus on growth-oriented strategies across sectors such as consumer, technology, healthcare, industrials, and financials, as aligned with Ranger’s specialized investment offerings. Brian's quantitative skill set and discipline in risk management play a key role in the firm's concentrated, high-conviction portfolio approach and its integration of ESG analysis into security selection.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University, and completed international business studies at Curtin University. He is active in the Dallas trading community, serving as Director and previously as President of the Dallas Security Traders Association, reflecting his commitment to both professional leadership and advancing best practices in the investment trading sector.
