Paul Carlson

Paul Carlson is a Partner and the Compliance Officer at Sanders Capital, LLC, a global investment management firm overseeing more than $100 billion in assets. Based in Ellenton, FL, Paul joined Sanders Capital in December 2022 as Compliance Officer and was named Partner in January 2025, where he leads the firm's compliance efforts and contributes to company strategy. His key responsibilities include ensuring regulatory adherence and supporting the firm's investment research and risk management initiatives.

Paul's investment expertise is grounded in public equity markets, with a particular focus on value-oriented portfolios, portfolio risk controls, and institutional client servicing. Before joining Sanders Capital, he was a Senior Investment Associate at Northern Trust Corporation for eight years, where he specialized in equities and multi-asset portfolio administration for institutional and high-net-worth clients, developing foundational expertise in compliance and investment operations. Earlier in his career, Paul served as an Operations Research Specialist at J.P. Morgan Chase and began as an Equity Analyst and Portfolio Administrator for a registered investment adviser in central Florida.

He holds a degree from Stetson University and is a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals. Throughout his career, Paul has been recognized for strengthening investment compliance frameworks and has played a central role in integrating ESG and responsible investment standards within portfolio management processes at Sanders Capital.
