Julian Burgess

Julian Burgess is a Senior Research Associate at Smith Group Asset Management, LLC, a Dallas-based investment advisor and subsidiary of Cantor Fitzgerald Investment Advisors LP. In his current role, Burgess is responsible for conducting in-depth equity research and supporting the firm's portfolio management process, with a focus on delivering superior risk-adjusted returns through a disciplined approach rooted in fundamental and quantitative analysis.

Burgess specializes in equity market research, with sector exposure that includes healthcare, technology, real estate, and energy—areas in which the Smith Group team provides tailored investment strategies for institutional and high-net-worth clients. His work involves implementing the firm’s earnings, valuation, and quality-focused stock selection process, as well as proactive risk management and portfolio construction.

Before becoming Senior Research Associate, Burgess served successively as Fundamental Research Associate and as an Investment Research Intern at Smith Group Asset Management, building expertise in earnings surprise prediction and fundamental valuation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from the University of Texas at Dallas - Naveen Jindal School of Management, providing a strong foundation in financial regulation and corporate finance.
