Jie Wei

Jie Wei is Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Virtus Systematic, a division of Virtus Advisers, LLC, based in San Diego, CA. In this role, he leads portfolio management and research for systematic global equity investment solutions, specializing in the application of quantitative strategies and artificial intelligence to capture market inefficiencies, primarily within the U.S. small-cap and international small-cap equity sectors.

Wei's career spans over two decades, including previous senior portfolio management roles at Allianz Global Investors and executive leadership as General Manager at PingAn Asset Management. Over his career, he has launched and managed multiple quantitative and market neutral strategies across U.S., emerging markets, and Asia, contributing significantly to the development of systematic approaches in the asset management industry.

He holds an MSc from the University of California, Berkeley and a BSc from Wuhan University.
