Brad Hinton

Brad Hinton is the Co-Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice President at Weitz Investment Management, based in Omaha, Nebraska. In his current role, he is responsible for co-leading the firm’s investment strategy, portfolio management, and research activities across both equity and multi-asset funds, including the Conservative Allocation, Multi Cap Equity, and Large Cap Equity funds. Hinton’s investment coverage is broad, with a significant focus on value-oriented equity securities and asset allocation across public markets, reflecting the firm’s intrinsic value philosophy.

Joining Weitz Investment Management in 2001 as a research analyst, Hinton was promoted to portfolio manager in 2003, director of research in 2004, and advanced to co-CIO in 2017. His prior experience includes serving as Debt Manager at ConAgra Foods and Fixed Income Investment Manager at Principal Financial Group, where he developed expertise in credit analysis, portfolio construction, and fixed income markets.

Brad Hinton holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Known for his disciplined approach to long-term value investing, he has played a key role in driving research rigor and maintaining consistent investment standards at Weitz, contributing to the firm’s reputation for high-conviction, research-driven portfolio management.
