Pratik Desai

Pratik Desai is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Bardin Hill Investment Partners LP, based in New York, NY. In his current role, he oversees opportunistic and event-driven credit investment strategies, managing significant portfolios and leading investments across complex distressed, performing, and private credit opportunities. Desai plays a pivotal role in identifying, executing, and monitoring investments, including substantial positions in sectors such as infrastructure, telecommunications, and energy, exemplified by his leadership in Bardin Hill’s involvement with GCX Holdings (global subsea fiber networks) and NextDecade Corp (LNG infrastructure).

Prior to joining Bardin Hill in 2018, Desai spent over 13 years at Halcyon Capital Management, progressing from Research Analyst to Director of Research and Managing Principal, and also gained early career experience in investment banking at JPMorgan. His expertise encompasses distressed assets, high-yield and leveraged credit, and event-driven situations, making him a recognized specialist in complex credit market investments and corporate restructurings.

Desai holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. With a track record of leading high-profile restructurings and portfolio strategies, he has contributed to Bardin Hill’s reputation as a leading investment firm dedicated to rigorous research and disciplined capital allocation in credit and special situations.
