Andrew Duran

Andrew Duran is a Senior Associate within the Real Estate Investment team at Canyon Partners, LLC, based in Los Angeles. In this role, he primarily focuses on the acquisition and asset management of equity investments as part of Canyon’s Emerging Manager strategy, particularly for the Emerging Manager platform managed on behalf of CalPERS. His work centers on sourcing, evaluating, and executing real estate transactions, with a focus on collaborations with emerging managers and the management of equity positions across diversified property types.

Before joining Canyon in 2022, Andrew was an Associate in Real Estate Banking at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., where he specialized in underwriting and structuring commercial real estate mortgages. This background provides him with significant expertise in both the debt and equity facets of real estate investing, with a strong emphasis on institutional real estate asset management, acquisition, and property-level due diligence.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with a minor in Real Estate, from the University of Virginia and completed part of his undergraduate studies on exchange at Esade. His investment focus includes U.S. real estate private equity, with an emphasis on emerging managers and institutional portfolio management, supporting the strategic deployment of capital for major pension fund clients.
