Michael Tabaksblat

Michael Tabaksblat is the Head Trader at Contour Asset Management, based in New York. He joined Contour in March 2014 as a trader and has held progressively senior roles, now leading the trading function since 2022. At Contour, he oversees execution strategy and risk management for the firm’s equity long-short portfolios, focusing primarily on technology, media, and telecommunications sectors.

Before Contour, Tabaksblat served as an analyst at PAMLI Capital Management and was an assistant trader at Ionic Capital Management, a relative value multi-strategy fund. His experience spans equity trading, portfolio management, and sector analysis, with a strong emphasis on complex, liquid growth-oriented equity strategies.

Tabaksblat holds a B.A. in Pre-Med and History with a Minor in Business from the Macaulay/CUNY Honors College at Queens College, and earned a master’s in accounting from Yeshiva University. His expertise in the TMT space and background in both fundamental research and trading operations have contributed to Contour’s reputation as a specialist in technology-driven hedge fund strategies.
