Jos Shaver

Jos Shaver is the Founding Partner and Senior Advisor at Electron Capital Partners, LLC, based in Greenwich, CT. In this role, he provides strategic guidance and oversight as a senior member of Electron's investment committee and board, drawing on over three decades of industry experience to help guide the firm's focus on global equity investments in energy transition-related sectors.

Throughout his distinguished career, Jos has specialized in the clean energy, infrastructure, and utility sectors, emphasizing companies involved in decarbonization and electrification. Electron Capital Partners, under his leadership, became well-known for its expertise in long-short equity strategies targeting both classic and green infrastructure, transitioning and clean utilities, and alternative/clean energy assets, with a particular emphasis on capitalizing on the secular opportunities created by the global energy transition.

Prior to founding Electron Capital in 2005 (and re-launching it in 2012 after a period as a portfolio manager at SAC Capital Advisors), Jos held senior roles in London as Managing Director at SG Barr Devlin and Director of EU Utilities at Credit Suisse First Boston. He holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Columbia Business School and a BA in Mathematical Economics from Colgate University, providing deep expertise in financial analysis and sector-specific investment. Jos is recognized for his track record in identifying structural changes in the energy ecosystem and delivering substantial returns through rigorous, research-driven investing.
