Michael Kahan

Michael Kahan is a Managing Partner and co-founder of North Peak Capital Management, LLC, a New York-based hedge fund specializing in long/short equity strategies with a focus on small and mid-cap public equities. At North Peak, he leads the firm’s investment activities, emphasizing concentrated, long-biased positions in undervalued companies poised for shareholder value creation. His investment leadership covers a portfolio concentrated across sectors, with significant exposure to consumer, financial, healthcare, and technology equities, as evidenced by top holdings such as Hilton Grand Vacations, Elevance Health, and Charles Schwab.

Before North Peak, Michael Kahan founded the firm’s private equity predecessor and served as a Director at Onex Corporation, a prominent Canadian private equity firm. His earlier career included management consulting at McKinsey & Company, further strengthening his analytical and strategic expertise in financial markets and operations.

Mr. Kahan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Economics from Harvard University. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Extend Fertility, reflecting his involvement in corporate governance and strategic initiatives beyond asset management.
