Mark Allan

Mark Allan is a seasoned investment professional currently serving as Partner and Head of Trading at Scopia Capital Management LP in New York, where he oversees portfolio construction, capital allocation, trading, and risk management. His role involves actively directing the firm’s strategies in public equities, with responsibilities spanning trade execution and risk oversight for hedge fund portfolios.

Allan’s investment expertise has ranged across a variety of asset classes, notably alternative investments such as hedge funds, as well as public equities—particularly in U.S. and global markets. Throughout his career, he has helped firms navigate complex investment opportunities across sectors including credit, equity, real estate, and infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on alternative and private strategies.

Before joining Scopia, Allan held key leadership roles at Clovis Capital, where he helped launch and grow their hedge fund platform, and at Ridgecrest Partners. He began his career as an equities trader at Montgomery Securities (Bank of America) and has also served as a consultant and advisor to various family offices and investment managers. Allan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and is actively involved in the investment oversight community, serving on committees related to endowment and educational investment.
