Jamie Sterne

Jamie Sterne is the founder and Managing Partner of Skye Global Management, a Florida-based hedge fund he established in 2016. He leads the firm’s long/short equity investing strategy, managing approximately $4–5 billion in assets, with a portfolio highly concentrated in large-cap technology and consumer companies, most notably Amazon and Microsoft. Sterne’s approach emphasizes investing in 'best-in-breed' businesses with durable competitive advantages, strong pricing power, and limited macroeconomic exposure, frequently making large, conviction-driven bets within the U.S. equity market.

Before launching Skye Global, Sterne was an equity analyst at Third Point LLC and began his career as a research analyst at Maverick Capital, with additional experience at Greenmantle and BeaconLight Capital. At Third Point, his research focused on equities across the consumer, industrial, and healthcare sectors, granting him a broad base of sectoral expertise.

Sterne holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Harvard College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Among his industry recognitions, he was named an Institutional Investor Hedge Fund Rising Star in 2018, and he is known for steering Skye Global to standout returns, including a 64% gain in 2023 after a significant drawdown the previous year.
