Karl Richter

Karl Richter is Managing Partner, Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager, and Analyst at Sora Investors, a firm he founded in September 2021. He leads the investment team in managing global technology-focused portfolios, applying deep fundamental research to build long-term relationships with portfolio companies and emphasizing idiosyncratic, conviction-driven investments.

Richter's investment expertise centers on public equities in the technology sector, with specialization in sub-sectors including semiconductors, industrial technology, fintech, internet, electronics, solar, clean tech, software, networking, robotics, telecom and media, video games, supply chain, electric vehicles, batteries, and cybersecurity. Sora Investors has particular exposure to US and Asian technology markets but also invests in Europe, Israel, Korea, Taiwan, and other developed regions.

Prior to founding Sora Investors, Richter served as Portfolio Manager for Global Equities at Citadel from 2015 to 2020, followed by a non-compete from 2020 to 2021. His earlier career encompassed roles as Portfolio Manager and Analyst at Susquehanna International Group, SAC Capital Advisors, and equity research positions at Lehman Brothers and Robertson Stephens. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and completed the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
