Logan Moncrief

Logan Moncrief is President and Partner at Thomist Capital Management LP, based in Houston, Texas, where he manages the firm’s operations and internal processes. He also serves as Chief Compliance Officer and is instrumental in shaping the firm’s strategy and governance. Thomist Capital focuses on energy-related equities and derivatives, with a particular emphasis on U.S. energy, materials, industrials, and mining asset classes.

Previously, Moncrief was Portfolio Manager and Chief Financial Officer at Moncrief Willingham Energy Advisors, a long/short hedge fund specializing in energy investments across the capital structure, where he led the investment process and oversaw regulatory compliance. He began his career as an Associate at J.P. Morgan Partners (now CCMP Capital), concentrating on private equity investments in the energy, industrial, and manufacturing sectors.

Moncrief earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Virginia, attending as a Jefferson Scholar.
