Nicolas Onofrey

Nicolas (Nick) Onofrey is a Partner and Head of Data Sciences at Tremblant Capital Group in New York, where he has overseen the firm's data sciences research since joining in 2002. In this role, he leads the application of advanced data analytics and computational techniques to support the firm’s global public equity investment strategies, working closely with sector portfolio managers to enhance the investment process.

Onofrey specializes in leveraging data-driven insights for equity investments, supporting Tremblant's focus on identifying secular, structural, and company-specific changes that can drive returns in public markets. His expertise bridges quantitative research, data science, and fundamental analysis, enabling the firm to systematically uncover opportunities and manage investment risk.

He holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business (2012), an MS in Computational Linguistics (2002), and a BS in Psychology/Linguistics (2000) from Georgetown University. Widely recognized within the investment community for his contributions to integrating data science in active equity management, Onofrey has played a key role in developing Tremblant Capital’s proprietary research methodologies and risk frameworks.
