Jay Lubinsky

Jay Lubinsky is a Portfolio Manager at Anson Capital, Inc. (Anson Funds), an alternative asset management firm headquartered in Toronto with additional offices in Dallas. In this role, Lubinsky is responsible for leading investment strategies and overseeing portfolio management with a focus on publicly listed equities, merger arbitrage, and event-driven investments, primarily in North American markets.

Lubinsky has built a robust career in finance, previously serving as Principal at West Face Capital and as an officer at Goldman Sachs, where he gained in-depth expertise across equities, derivatives, and alternative asset classes. At Anson, he is known for active involvement in shareholder events, public company transactions, and special situations, with notable participation in the mining, streaming, and financial services sectors—including advocacy around Cobalt 27 and GMP Capital transactions.

He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario and brings over two decades of investment management experience. Lubinsky has played a key role in Anson Funds' growth, contributing to its reputation for deploying capital across complex event-driven and special situations opportunities, and is recognized for his in-depth analytical approach and shareholder activism in Canadian and U.S. markets.
