Moez Kassam

Moez Kassam is the co-founder, Chairman, and Chief Investment Officer of Anson Funds, a Toronto-based alternative asset management firm overseeing more than $2 billion in assets. In his current role, Kassam is responsible for setting strategic direction, risk management, and leading the investment team across all core fund offerings, particularly the flagship Anson Investments Master Fund.

He specializes in multi-strategy investing with a focus on publicly traded equities and debt, including classic short selling, value long positions, and opportunistic investments. Kassam and his team actively pursue opportunities across sectors such as technology, real estate, consumer, and special situations, frequently employing activism, catalyst-driven investing, and event-driven strategies to unlock value for their investors.

Kassam holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA in Finance from London Business School. Recognized among Canada's Top 40 Under 40 and frequently cited by Barron's and Bloomberg, he is acknowledged for his fund’s exceptional risk-adjusted returns, activism, and leadership in the alternative investment industry. Kassam also serves on several philanthropic boards and is an active supporter of community initiatives in Toronto.
