Thomas Muir is the President and Owner of Cultivar Capital, Inc., a fee-only investment management firm based in Denton, Texas. As President and Portfolio Manager, he oversees investment strategy and portfolio management, including active roles in managing the Cultivar ETF (CVAR), a publicly traded equity fund. His firm specializes in comprehensive financial planning and investment management, serving high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and non-profit organizations with a focus on disciplined, long-term growth in diversified asset classes—particularly equities and custom portfolios for institutional and non-profit clients.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Thomas is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner (CFP®). He previously founded and led Rench and Muir Financial Advisors, and held roles in tax and wealth management at Deloitte & Touche and Anderson, Spector & Co. He brings a broad background in financial, tax, and estate planning, as well as experience implementing and reviewing investment policy statements for non-profit endowments and foundations.

Thomas holds both a BS and MS in Accounting (Taxation) from the University of North Texas, where he also served as an adjunct professor. He is actively involved in the community as Mayor of Sanger, Vice Chair of the UNT Foundation, and as a director and founding board member for several local organizations, including the Upper Trinity Conservation Trust and the Sanger Education Foundation.
