Doug Leach

Doug Leach, CFA, is a founding member and Portfolio Manager at Dean Capital Management, LLC, based in the Kansas City area with personal residence in Lee’s Summit, MO. In this role, he leads the investment management of the Dean Mid Cap Value and Multi Cap Value strategies, overseeing portfolio construction, security selection, and ongoing research support across DCM's U.S. value equity products.

His sector and asset class focus is on U.S. equities, particularly in the mid-cap and multi-cap value segments, managing portfolios benchmarked against the Russell Midcap Value Index and holding between 40-60 stocks with diverse industry representation. He emphasizes a fundamental, value-driven investment approach and is recognized for his work in Mid Cap Value equity, recently earning emerging manager awards within this asset class.

With over 33 years of investment experience, Doug was previously a senior equity analyst at C.H. Dean, and earlier, a member of the value investment team at American Century Investments managing Equity Income, Value, and Mid Cap Value strategies. He holds a BA from Central Missouri State University and an MBA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Doug is a CFA charterholder, recognized for his longstanding commitment to value investing and institutional portfolio management.
