John Davies

John (Jack) Davies, CFA, is a Portfolio Analyst at Foster Group, Inc. in West Des Moines, Iowa, where he supports the Investment and Trading Team. In this role, he is responsible for conducting research and due diligence on current and prospective funds and managers, as well as providing portfolio research and analytical support to the firm’s Investment Advisory Group. His work helps drive investment decisions for client portfolios that span a broad array of asset classes.

Davies’ expertise is grounded in performing valuations, manager due diligence, and research across diversified investment strategies, including equities, fixed income, and alternative assets. At Foster Group, his focus areas include portfolio construction, asset allocation, and evaluating both public and private investment vehicles to support the needs of institutional and individual clients.

Before joining Foster Group in 2021, Davies spent over seven years in valuation services with RSM US LLP, where he managed teams responsible for business valuation for tax, financial reporting, and management planning. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charterholder, underscoring his expertise in security analysis, portfolio management, and investment research.
