Ken Morgan

Ken Morgan is Principal and Global Head of Trading at Kopernik Global Investors, LLC, based in Los Angeles, California. In this role since Kopernik’s inception in 2013, he leads trading operations for a firm managing over $5 billion in global equity assets, focusing particularly on executing trades across global equity markets, including emerging and developed markets. Morgan’s responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of the firm’s investment strategies—which emphasize value-oriented equity investing, especially in non-U.S. markets, small- and mid-caps, conglomerates, and sectors exhibiting significant market inefficiencies.

With more than four decades of investment industry experience since 1981, Morgan has held senior roles such as Global Head of Trading at Vinik Asset Management and Managing Director at BTIG, prior to joining Kopernik. His expertise centers on managing complex global equity trades, and he has contributed to establishing robust trading infrastructures at multiple top-tier investment firms.

Morgan holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Southern California. He is widely regarded for his deep expertise in global equities, value-based strategies, and capital markets operations. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in supporting investment teams focused on contrarian, long-term value investing in sectors often overlooked by mainstream markets.
