Hiro Maeda

Hirotaka Maeda is a Managing Director and Partner at Moon Capital Management LP, an alternative investment management firm headquartered in New York. Based in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, he joined Moon Capital in February 2017, where he is responsible for portfolio management and investment decisions targeting global equities and alternative assets, with a strong focus on the Japanese market and non-exporting sectors.

He brings nearly three decades of experience in finance and asset management, having held prominent roles such as Managing Director at Saferidge Capital Partners and Asian Century Quest Capital, and analyst positions at BlueCrest Capital Management, Kingdon Capital Management, and HSBC. At Asian Century Quest Capital, he was notably engaged in Japanese investments, specifically in domestic sectors not reliant on exports.

Hirotaka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from The University of Tokyo. He is recognized for his expertise in Japanese equities, fundamental analysis, and international portfolio strategy, and has made significant contributions to cross-border investment practices in Asia and the United States.
