Dan Stier

Dan Stier is the President and Chief Investment Officer at Operose Advisors, based in Milwaukee, WI, where he oversees the firm’s strategic direction and leads its investment process. He joined Operose in 2023 and is responsible for managing institutional-quality investment consulting and advisory services, guiding the firm’s asset allocation and overall portfolio strategy.

Prior to his role at Operose, Dan was Managing Director at Northwestern Mutual Investment Management Company, where he led strategic investment initiatives for the company’s $300+ billion General Account and pension portfolios. His expertise spans strategic and tactical asset allocation for multi-asset class portfolios, leadership of new business initiatives, as well as oversight of spread lending and debt capital markets funding activities.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and serves as an Advisory Board member at his alma mater. His investment focus covers public and private markets, asset allocation, pension portfolios, spread lending, and debt capital markets, reflecting significant contributions in enterprise-wide investment management and the evolution of investment technology strategies.
