Justin McNichols

Justin McNichols serves as Chief Investment Officer and Principal at Osborne Partners Capital Management, based in San Francisco, CA. He leads the firm’s investment strategy and portfolio management, and is a member of the executive management and board, with more than 25 years of industry experience. His core responsibilities include overseeing asset allocation, risk management, and managing a diverse investment portfolio for high-net-worth clients and institutions.

McNichols specializes in multi-asset class investing, with notable focus on U.S. and international equities, fixed income, and alternatives such as real assets and venture capital. His portfolio management covers a wide range of sectors including technology, consumer discretionary, financials, and healthcare, demonstrated by holdings in companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and global ETFs. He leads a team of CFA charterholders, advocating high standards of research and disciplined investment processes.

Prior to joining Osborne Partners in 2000 as principal and CIO, McNichols was Portfolio Manager and Head of Equity Research at Wells Fargo Asset Management, and Vice President at Cowen and Company. He holds both BA and MBA degrees in Finance from the University of California, Irvine – The Paul Merage School of Business. As a CFA charterholder, he is recognized for his rigorous analytical approach and his contribution to investment community education and leadership.
