John Sullivan

John D. Sullivan, Jr., CFA, is Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Olstein Capital Management, L.P., located in Harrison, NY. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing investment strategy and portfolio construction for the firm’s value-oriented mutual funds, focusing on identifying companies that are mispriced due to temporary problems or market uncertainty. Sullivan actively participates in client servicing, providing updates and insights to financial intermediaries, advisors, and consultants.

With a career at Olstein Capital Management spanning two decades, Sullivan was previously Vice President and Research Analyst (2014–2022), and began as a Research Analyst in 2005 before his promotion to Portfolio Manager in 2022. His expertise lies in intensive forensic analysis of financial statements, emphasizing free cash flow generation and economic realism beyond reported earnings.
