Samuel Horn

Samuel J. Horn is Assistant Portfolio Manager at Polaris Capital Management, LLC, based in Boston, MA. Since joining Polaris initially in 2012 and rejoining in 2016 after completing his MBA at MIT Sloan, Horn has advanced from Analyst to Senior Investment Analyst to his current role as of January 2025, also becoming an LLC member in 2022. He is responsible for uncovering and analyzing undervalued global companies with enduring fundamentals, contributing directly to research, portfolio construction, and security selection across developed and emerging markets.

Horn is considered a generalist, participating in the investment team's global screening of opportunities with a particular focus on value equities. He is actively involved in identifying strong candidates in sectors such as financials, including U.S. bank stocks, as well as maintaining a broad portfolio perspective that spans multiple industries and regions.

Horn holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management, with a Finance Track certificate, and a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Economics from George Mason University, where he co-founded the George Mason Investment Club. Prior to his investment career, he worked as an accountant for the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and as Assistant Track and Field Coach at the U.S. Air Force Academy, bringing a diverse background and strong analytical skills to the Polaris investment team.
