Eric Hsu

Eric Hsu, PhD, is an Analyst at Sofinnova Investments in Boston, Massachusetts, where he focuses on investments in biopharmaceutical companies across a range of disease areas and therapeutic modalities. At Sofinnova since January 2025, he contributes to evaluating and analyzing opportunities in the life sciences sector, applying scientific rigor to investment strategies leveraging his neuroscience background. Before joining Sofinnova, Eric completed his PhD in Neuroscience at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he researched neural signaling and behavioral influences, with specialization in advanced microscopy and neuropharmacology. He also gained venture experience as a Fellow at Breakout Ventures and Insight Partners, and held leadership roles within the Johns Hopkins Graduate Consulting Club, sharpening his skills in venture analysis, strategy, and pro bono biotechnology consulting.

Eric holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins and a BA in Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis, where he conducted research on chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
